Deeper and Wider part 5

08/23/2017 18:50

The tricky part is that when everything is available to you... when the Spirit and the bride ring the dinner bell and say, "Come and get it..." Well, its a lot like the rule we have for family get togethers at my mom's house. We say, "Its self serve, just like at Ma's!" The trick is, you can have as much as you want. As much as you're willing to receive (by releasing). That's the seemingly upside down, backwards econcomy of the Kingdom. The last shall be first, and the first shall be last. You "get" what you have by giving it away. That's how you experience it. So as we wrap up this idea of there always being more than we think--exceedingly abundantly more than we could ask or think--I want to kind of put the emphasis on US. And this is NOT a "do more to get more," religious, performance-based, earning your bread by the sweat of your brow kind of thing. Because works and labor don't work. You can't earn a gift. Gifts are freely given and must be received. What I'm talking about is fixing your mind... by fixing it on things above and not on things on the earth. Because what you magnify is what manifests in your life. Like my grandma and I always seem to find... the deeper you go, the deeper you can go. Like at my Mom's house... its self serve. Get you what you want. Get you how much of what you want. By realizing that you already have it. You can be as close to God as you realize you are. We ARE one with Him. That's the truth of the matter. But it doesn't always feel that way. Sometimes we float on the top of the rivers of life instead of letting those rivers flow out of our hearts. One translation says out of our innermost being. Man was created BY love in order to BE loved. Love is what is in our hearts, whether it feels like it or not. And what's in there comes out... when we know and believe that its in there. This six course meal (the Six Steps to the Throne that is Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection on the cross) has been prepared for us. But look at Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Remember what we saw the other day about believing being the lynchpin to the whole deal. We HAVE it all. And we can go as deep and wide as we want to go. But its up to us to decide how far we want to go. If we're ok on the surface... I'm not condemning anybody for that. Even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the children's table. But when we begin to understand that we ARE the Son of God... that we ARE God in the flesh, love in a body... that our true identity is Jesus... then we can really chow down. When we hear that knock, or that call of the Spirit and the bride... we can enjoy the entire supper. We can completely identify with the inner man. The hidden man of the heart. And then what's inside will come out. Naturally. And as we share that gift of God--gift of love--we can begin to comprehend the height, and depth, and length, and breadth of that love. By letting God love us, and by loving each other with that same love. As deeply and as widely as possible!

Deeper and Wider part 4

08/22/2017 18:46

Here's what I think it comes down to: "Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart'" (John 7:38 NLT). See, some people are content to float on the surface. And I really do think that's ok. Because we're not always ready--or able--to hold our breath long enough to get down deep. And the scraps certainly ARE better than nothing. But there's so much more available. We don't have to settle for what's on the surface. We can, in fact, let the rivers (plural) flow out of our hearts! That, to me, is even more than flowing IN the rivers. Its knowing that we ARE the rivers! Not just living IN the Kingdom, but knowing that we ARE the Kingdom! There's an entire six course meal available to us. And it is, in truth, the only thing that can satisfy us. But my point for this Rant series is that you can go as deep as you want to go. Now let me qualify that remark: I once heard someone say, "You can be as close to God as you want to be." But the truth is, you can't get any closer to God than you are right now. He lives in you. The truth of the matter is, you can be as close to God as you realize you are. You can enjoy the gift of God (which is eternal life, which is knowing the only true God and the One He sent) only as much as you've received it. You can't give what you don't have, right? And you can only give what you do have? You can only enjoy the gift that you've received. And, in my opinion, the best way to receive that gift is by releasing it. Sharing it. Giving it away. And there's the rub. One of my favorite passages of Scripture goes like this, "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God" (Ephesians 3:16-19). Its that comprehension of love. And I'm not convinced we will ever be able to FULLY comprehend it. Because it just keeps getting deeper and deeper. Wider and Wider. Better and better. And the way we truly comprehend the height, and depth, and length, and breadth of His love... is by loving each other. The way we go deeper and wider is when the rivers flow out of us from within us. When we let God love us so much that His love overflows out of us. Naturally. We experience the gift by giving it away. We experience love by loving people. And that's where "with all the saints" comes in. Because love isn't really real until it manifests as charity--love in action. One person loving another person. That's what it means for the Word to be made flesh. That's what life is all about. Because to live is to love and to love is to live. They aren't just connected. They are the same thing. And the more we learn how we ARE loved by God... the more we CAN love each other. The deeper we go, the deeper we find that we CAN go. God's love is deep and wide. That's why knowing His love is a knowledge that passes knowledge. Its not head knowledge. Its heart knowledge! REAL knowledge. Deep and wide knowledge!

Deeper and Wider part 3

08/21/2017 19:37

There's so much available to us. Literally an entire kingdom. The Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of Love. And that, to me, is the whole deal of the thing. When God wrapped Himself in human flesh... when the Word of God--which is Jesus, which is love--came to earth... everything changed. Like my mom always says, "Either the cross changed everything, or it didn't change anything." Point being, well, let me quote my verse first. "Jesus told her, "First I should feed the children--my own family, the Jews. It isn't right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs." She replied, "That's true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children's plates."" (Mark 7:27-28 NLT). And, obviously, this is speaking of Jews and Gentiles. But the problem is that even now, after the cross, after one brach was cut off so another could be grafted on, after the Gospel was GIVEN to the Gentiles... we still have this poverty mentality. We're still scrambling for scraps, if I can say it that way. When, on the cross, Jesus prepared the table for ALL of us. When He was lifted up from the earth on the cross He drew ALL MEN unto himself. And it is in the eating of the this six course meal (The Six Steps to the Throne... Crucified, Died, Buried, Quickened, Raised, Seated) that we are satisfied. That we stop looking for love (because the bread and the wine, the Lamb and the living water IS love) in all the wrong places and begin to tap into the source. Because we are connected to the source. God (LOVE) lives in us and we live in Him. We don't have to settle for scraps from the children's table. And, for the record, if you keep reading in the book of Mark, you find that Jesus was satisifed with the woman's faith and did for her what she asked of Him. Because even a scrap of the good stuff beats engorging yourself on anything else. But, again, by point is its ALL available to us. We ARE the Son(s) of God. Seated with Him, and in Him, at the right hand of the Father. Because as He is, so are we in this world. What He did FOR us, He also did AS us. He IS the meal that He prepared for us. Eat His flesh and drink His blood, right? Fill ourselves to overflowing with what we've already been filled with. BE transformed into what we've already been transformed into. By the renewing of our minds. By letting the mind of Christ that's already in us BE in us. By not settling. By... listen, I know the old saying, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." And I can understand the idea of doing the best you can with what you've got. But what you've got really doesn't have a whole lot to do with what "life," or the world, gives you. What you've got has everything to do with the Kingdom. Jesus came that we might have life, and that more abundantly. Love is what makes the abundant life abundant. And its not what we can have if we do this, this, and this. Its not what we can have if we try hard enough, and act "good" enough, and earn it. It is, in fact and in truth, what we already have. What we already ARE. Because we are IN the Kingdom, and we ARE the Kingdom. We are loved... and we can love. Which means we can live. Because to live IS to love and to love IS to live. We don't have to settle for scraps. We can enjoy the entire meal!

Deeper and Wider part 2

08/20/2017 18:51

I'm not sure why this is the case, but it seems to me that over 2,000 years after the move of God (that most people still seem to be waiting for) happened on the cross... we have still barely scratched the surface on what that move of God was, and what that move of God means. I wrote a whole book about it--Six Steps to the Throne--but even still I think there's so much more available to us than we realize. And, unfortunately, I think that's why we go through so much needless suffering. Just as an example, look at 1 Peter 2:24 (NLT), "He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed." And, as a quick aside, I think there is a definite connection between being dead to sin and being in divine health. But my point for today is, we use this verse when someone is sick, or hurt, or what have you. And we claim it over them so that they can "get" some healing. But it doesn't say, "You CAN be healed." It says, "You ARE healed." Past tense. And, listen, I get sick sometimes. I get headaches. I'm not fully walking in what I'm trying to present here. But that's what I'm trying to present. I believe there is so much more available to us than what we settle for. I believe that there are people who will NOT pass through the gates of physical death. Not all will sleep, but all will be changed, right? Stuff that we never really seem to get into that much. Like we're afraid of the implications. And, again, I think that's ok. I was associated with a pastor once who would tell people that he didn't really "get" the book of Revelation. So he left it alone. I think that's wisdom. I think there are things each of us are uniquely suited for. Things we understand... and things we don't. So if something's not for you... that's ok. You don't have to "get" it all, or know it all, to HAVE it all. The truth is the truth whether you know it or not. Whether you believe it or not. That's why I generally say its the truth you know (and believe) that sets you free and makes you free. I think when we begin to understand our unity with God--with LOVE--a lot of things we struggle with are going to just fade away. We'll be able to, as the book of Hebrews says, lay aside the sin (unbelief) and the weight that so easily besets us. I think its available to us. We have been given the gift of God. We perhaps haven't fully received it... but we DO have it. We have been blessed with all Spiritual blessings in the heavenly Christ. We have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. Jesus did it all so we could get it all. We have it all. Everything we could ever need has already been provided for us. We are the Son of the King, but we live like beggars. We come to God with our hands out, begging Him for scraps when He already prepared a table for us in the presence of our enemies. A six-course meal called the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus (Crucified, Died, Buried, Quickened, Raised, Seated). That was the move of God. That was God not only telling us, but SHOWING us, what love really is. Laying your life down for your friends. Giving everything you have and everything you are. But, like I always say, you can't give what you don't have. So its vitally important to know what you DO have--LOVE!

Deeper and Wider part 1

08/19/2017 19:43

My grandma likes to talk about Spiritual things with me. And I'm all about that. I say it all the time, I'm not going to try to convince anybody of anything. And I'm certainly not going to argue with anybody. But if you want to know what I think about the things of God... you know... love... then I'll tell you. In fact, I once had somebody ask me if Jesus and my son are the only things I actually take seriously. (Not COMPLETELY accurate, but pretty accurate.) So when my grandma wants to talk about Spirit things... like I said... I'm all about it. But we always seemed to find ourselves in the middle of the same "problem." Which is, the deeper you go... the deeper you find out you CAN go. The more questions you ask... the more questions you think of. And I know there are a lot of people out there who are NOT like that. There are people out there who know what they know and are perfectly happy with what they know. That's how most denominations start: Somebody has a revelation, and moves away from what came before. But most of the time they plant their flag in that revelation and stay right there. One of the most important "labels" if you want to call it that, that I've ever heard is when my pastor described himself as a "truth seeker." And since Jesus IS the Truth (and the Way, and the Life) I like that a lot. The trick is to not throw the baby out with the bathwater. To not lose what came before as we continue onward and upward. 2 Peter 1:12 says it like this, "Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth." And that's what my grandma is so good at. She's read the Bible more times than anyone I know. So she has what is, in my humble opinion, a STRONG foundation. When she listens to someone preaching and they mention an Old Testament story, she knows exactly what they're talking about. And then, because she has that foundation, she can go down the road with them into their new revelation of that old, familiar story. Now, listen. I'm NOT saying you need to read your Bible more. That's between you and your personal conviction. What I'm saying is... there's so much more available to us than we know. Exceedingly abundantly more than we could ask for or even think about. The way that leads to life is straight and narrow. But it is also deep and wide. The river of life is deep and wide. And we can stay on the surface if we want to. I'm not against people having something that works for them and being happy with it. There is no condemnation in Christ. But there's so much more. SO much more. Its like the principal of 30 fold, 60 fold, 100 fold. Thirty ain't bad. And if you're going from zero to thirty... man, thirty looks REAL good. But I don't want anybody to miss out on anything. I want us to have the FULNESS of God. The FULNESS of love that is available to us. This life is so much more than just eating, and drinking, and paying bills. Its relationship. Between Creator and creation... and between you and me. I have a lot to say about this pressing on into the fulness. It might be a book here at some point. But for now, for the next few days, I'm saying you don't have to settle for what you've got. Because you've got a lot more than you think you've got!

The Mind part 5

08/18/2017 17:37

I know we interact with each other externally. But a LOT of our lives are internal. What we feel... what we think... so many of these things are unexpressed. At least not point for point verbally. It seems like we very rarely say exactly what we think or feel. But what's inside DOES come out. Always. In one way or another. So we need to keep an eye on what's going on inside. The inner man, if I can label it that way. And as someone who is very self-aware, I KNOW this can be hard for some people. If you ask ME why I feel the way I feel, I can probably tell you point for point. But not everybody is like that. Sometimes even "I" don't quite know why I feel the way I feel. I can usually figure it out if I want to, but, like I said, some people can't always do that. What's my point? My point is that we need to give people a break. And if you've followed my ministry for any length of time you're probably not surprised that, to me, it always comes back to compassion and understanding. In a Word... love. So to end this Rant series about HAVING the mind of Christ, and USING the mind of Christ--letting the mind of Christ that's already in us BE in us--I want to focus on using that mind on people who DON'T know that they have it. Because the truth of the matter is, you can't give what you don't have. And you can only give what you do have. You can't use something that you don't know you've got. So while we're over here thinking the thoughts of God--thoughts of peace, and not of evil, the expected end that came 2,000 years ago on the cross--we need to make sure that we don't slip into judgmental territory and get on people who AREN'T thinking those thoughts. We need to have patience, and mercy, and grace. Because not everybody (perhaps not ANYBODY) is at exactly the same point of the journey that you are. So while you might have something that they need... they might not know that they need it yet. And while they might be crying for help... they might be doing it in a way that doesn't exactly make it easy to help them. Sometimes people act mad when they're scared, or hurt. See what I mean? Anger isn't always anger. And it certainly isn't always personal. I always say, "Don't take it personally, even if it is." Now you know I generally qualify this stuff. So I'm NOT saying you should put yourself in a bad position. I'm not saying you should let people use you, or abuse you. But I am saying you might should cut people some slack. If you try to shove Jesus down somebody's throat, I guarantee you they will choke on Him. If you pressure people, they tend to run FROM you instead of TO you. If you pressure people with God they will run FROM Him instead of TO Him. I like to say, in Revelation 22:17, when the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" They don't say, "Come... or else." They say, "Come and get it!" So, this mind of Christ that WE have (that we KNOW that we have) doesn't give us a free pass to condemn those that don't have it. In fact, it equips and empowers us to LOVE those people no matter what. No matter where they are in their journey. No matter what thoughts THEY think... WE can think the thoughts of love. And let those interior thoughts come out in the actions of love!

The Mind part 4

08/17/2017 18:13

I've been a little bit reluctant to go here, but hopefully I can get my point across without getting lost in some of the "religious" stuff. Romans 8:5-6 NLT, "Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace." Ok? But what I DON'T want to Rant about today is the sinful nature. I believe Jesus took away the sinful nature when He took away the sin of the world. What I want to Rant about today is the life and peace that comes from fixing your mind... by fixing your mind on things above, and not on the earth. The peace of mind and the abundant, everlasting, eternal, Resurrection Life of God that comes from letting the mind of Christ (that's already in you) BE in you. By USING what you've got. Or, as our passage of Scripture says, letting it control you. Romans 8:14 goes on to say, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." Controlled by... led by. And this is NOT to say that in order to be a Son of God you have to be led by the Spirit. Its not an if-then statement. Its not something to try to do in order to be. Its actually kind of backwards. More accurate would be, when you know you're a Son of God... you are led by the Spirit of God. The Spirit of truth that leads and guides us into all truth. The truth that God is love, and He loves you. The ultimate truth of the universe that says, "The Father loveth the Son and hath given all things into His hands." That's what God thinks. That's His thought. Because that's what He said. That's His Word. Jesus. Love. That's what IN the mind of Christ. And that's what comes out, when we fill ourselves to overflowing with what we've been filled with. When we are controlled by the Spirit instead of dominated by anything else. When we set our affection on things above and not things on the earth. Because what you feed is what will grow. What you magnify in your life is what will manifest in your life. What you see is what you be. What you think is what you say and do. So its important to know and believe the truth. Its important to stand for something... or you're fall for anything. Its important to know WHAT you believe, and WHY you believe it. The mind of Christ is kind of single minded. Its love, love, love. All day every day. Its the rock, the foundation, that everything else is built on. And sometimes its not a great idea to be stubborn. But when it comes to love... its important to know, and believe, and understand, that love never fails. Because love never gives up. And, as always, I'm not saying you should put yourself--or keep yourself--in a bad situation. Love is giving everything you have and everything you are. And once you've done that, its either enough... or its not. What I'm saying is, in order to speak life... you have to think life. You have to see things the way God sees them. You have to stop judging according to appearance and start judging righteous judgment. Letting go of things that don't line up with love, love, and more love. And focusing on (you guessed it) love, love, and more love!

The Mind part 3

08/16/2017 20:49

The tricky part is that you can't USE what you've got unless you KNOW what you've got. Its LETTING the mind of Christ (that's already in you) BE in you. And you can only do that when you stop trying to get something you think you haven't got, and you start knowing and believing that you've got everything you need. You can't earn a gift, and that's a problem when you spend all of your three t's (time, talent, treasure) trying to earn your bread by the sweat of your brow. You end up robbing yourself of the gift you've been given, and you end up missing out on what's available to you right here and now. When Jesus was talking about the thief and the robber, He was talking about trying to enter the sheepfold through any other way but the door. He was talking about the straight and narrow path that leads to LIFE. Because if we're talking about REAL life... TRUE life... the abundant, everlasting, eternal, Resurrection Life of Jesus... then OF COURSE the only way to experience Jesus' life is to let HIM live it in us, and through us, and as us. We don't try to live His life. Nobody can live Jesus' life except Jesus. We don't try to follow in His foot steps. We simply let Him make His own foot steps in our feet. That's what letting the mind of Christ be in you is all about; we let God think HIS thoughts--thoughts of peace and not evil, to give us the expected end that is life WITHOUT end--and then we act on those thoughts. We don't try to get His thoughts. We already have them. We don't try to get His mind. We already have it. What we do is we set our affection. We set our mind. We bring our thoughts into captivity. Not by chasing down "bad" thoughts and squashing them... but by letting them go. Laying aside the sin (unbelief) and the weight that so easily besets us. Look at Philippians 4:8 in the NLT, "And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." You don't have to let your thought life control you. You can fix your thought life by fixing your thoughts on what is, let's just say, GOD. LOVE. Its easy to get caught up in things. Its easy to let things drag you down. And sometimes it really is like a snowball effect. One thing leads to another and another. But we don't have to believe everything we think. We don't have to believe in doom and gloom. We don't have to accept that things are bad and getting worse. We HAVE something better. A more excellent way. We have the truth. And the truth sets you free and makes you free. The truth that you KNOW sets you free and makes you free. Its that powerful. What you DO flows from what you BELIEVE. What you think INSIDE makes its way OUT. A lot of times in what we speak (and I think I'm still going to get more into that. Maybe tomorrow.) But my thought for today is... you can't give what you haven't got. And you can't use what you haven't got. So instead of trying to be someone we're not, in order to get something you think you haven't got... be YOU. The REAL you. The Chirst in you the hope of glory, you. USE that mind of Christ. Think those thoughts (love) of God. Fix your thoughts on HIM and watch everything else flow!

The Mind part 2

08/15/2017 19:19

The other day I was trying to decide whether or not to do something. And Amanda said, "You don't have to justify yourself. If you want to do it, go ahead." I replied by saying, "I'm actually just trying to convince myself to do it." And it turned out that I didn't need to do it at all, and it kind of worked itself out as something of a spectacular disaster. Because what I thought I needed to go get... I already had. And the whole time I was pretty sure I already had it... but I didn't trust myself. I didn't trust my gut. See... letting the mind of Christ that's already in you BE in you is all about trusting your gut. Following your heart. Letting God's Word (which is Jesus, which is love) be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. In that case, I talked myself out of something... by talking myself into something. Remember where we ended yesterday's Rant? The words of a king have power. Let me take it to even another level: "Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye" (Mark 7:13). We know the truth... and knowing and believing the truth is what sets us free and makes us free. But sometimes we let that lie creep in. There's a song lyric that says, "I can't tell you what it really is, I can only tell you what if feels like." And a lot of the time that's where we're at. We are ruled by our feelings. Our emotions. I always say, "Feel what you feel. But don't let it control you." Because I think emotions are important. And, as someone who doesn't display a lot of them, I think I have a unique perspective on this. Because people get frustrated with me sometimes because of my lack of emotions. But just because I don't always show it, doesn't mean I don't feel it. Point being: you should never let anybody tell you how to feel. Feel what you feel. That's important. If you're sad... be sad. If you're angry... be angry. But don't let those feelings control you. Let something else control you. "Either way, Christ's love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life" (2 Corinthians 5:14 NLT). You can be sad and still love people. You can be angry and still love people. Love is all-powerful, right? Love is the Rock that we build our lives on. Love is the Word of God, and the thought that God thinks with His mind. So its the thought that WE think with His mind--when we LET what's already in us BE in us--and its the Word that we say. Your thoughts, or your beliefs, dictate your actions. And when you think love... the Word is made flesh. Love becomes charity. Which is love in action. The mind controls the body. Not our emotions all of the time, but that ultimate truth of the universe that says "God is love and He loves you." So I guess what I'm trying to say today is that you don't have to believe everything you think. And you don't have to try to talk yourself into, or out of, anything. Because deep down inside there's a still, small voice telling you the truth over and over and over again: I love you... I love you... I love you. And when your mind is full of love--full of LIFE--that's when a life of love overflows out of you and you experience the abundant, everlasting, eternal, Resurrection Life of God!

The Mind part 1

08/14/2017 18:54

Here's where I think we get into trouble sometimes: We get our thought life all messed up. I can't stress enough how important what you think, and what you believe, is. What you do flows from what you believe. I'm telling you, behavior modification doesn't work. Because it doesn't get to the root of the issue. Its a bandaid on cancer, if I can say it that way. Real, true, lasting change doesn't come from an exterior list of does and don'ts. Real, true, lasting change comes from within. When what is inside... comes out. That's why when we link together 1 Corinthians 2:16, "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ," and Philippians 2:5, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus," I always say: Let this mind of Christ (that's already in you) BE in you. USE the mind of Christ that you already have. Let me say it another way: "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth" (Colossians 3:2). And I like it even better in the NLT, "Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth." I'm telling you right now, you don't have to believe everything you think. Bringing your thoughts into captivity is not about chasing down all the "bad" thoughts and beating them into submission. Bringing your thoughts into captivity is about focusing on what is true, and right, and good. Thinking about things that are enlightening, and edifying. Again--USING the mind of Christ that's already in you. Letting it BE in you. Because what you feed is what will grow. What you magnify is what will manifest in your life. Remember when we were talking about making mountains out of molehills? Things are important when (and if) we make them important. I can't tell you how many times I've driven myself crazy (over) thinking about things that really don't even matter. And I usually fall back to what my step-mom taught me at Bible college: When you start to get mad about something, ask yourself if it will even matter a year from now. Because its easy to ride that emotional rollercoaster. Get way up when something goes right, but then plummet when things go wrong. And when we judge things by appearance, instead of seeing the bigger picture and judging righteous judgment, we can very easily go off the rails on that crazy train. We can let minor setbacks and inconveniences wreck us. When, really, most of the time we simply need to check ourselves before we wreck ourselves. We need to THINK life so that we can SPEAK life. I think in this Rant series I'm going to get a little bit into how important confession is. People say, "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me," but the truth is... your words are incredibly powerful. The first part of Ecclesiastes 8:4 says, "Where the word of a king is, there is power." And we are kings and priests on this earth. So what we confess, or decree, is what goes. And it flows from within. It flows from our thought life. It flows from the mind. What we believe is what we do. What we think is what we say. Its so important...
